These pieces interests me because of the unique views this new technique revealed. Using a shattered piece of hurricane glass, the curve arcs and contours of the glass changed the way the same acrylic ink appeared. Under lights and sidelights confuse the eye. So in one view it resembles a lava flow, in another turn of the glass on the lighted platform a Chinese dragons reveals itself, while others saw an elephant in the same view. The Cosmic Dragon has a two dimensional component rising out of the picture in a surreal plus to the image. There was no embossing to “Photoshop” tricks. It is the result of the curves in the shattered glass that give rise to the 3D image. Lava seems to have the colors flow out from the blue foreground. It took several hours to figure out how to shatter the glass, select the right pieces and then match the inks and contours to get to these two images. More are in progress. Hoping for a series of three or four total. Cheers and these are available on the Works page!!
